Booking & your visit
Getting in the door.
How early in my pregnancy can I come in?
As soon as you find out. We can start blood work at 1+ weeks and ultrasounds at 5+ weeks.
Are same-day appointments available?
Often, yes. We keep limited same-day spots open — text us at (956) 467-7293 or book online and we'll do our best to fit you in.
Can I bring family or friends?
Absolutely. We have two connecting rooms, so we can comfortably fit about 20 people of any age. Bring the whole family.
How long does a session take?
Anywhere from 5 to 45 minutes, depending on which package you book and how far along you are.
What if baby isn't cooperating?
It happens more than you'd think — babies hide, turn away, or nap right through it. Several of our packages include a free redo visit so you can come back and try again. Ask us which ones.
What's your cancellation policy?
No problem if your plans change — just give us a heads-up. Cancellations are eligible for an 80% refund.
Where are you located?
5425 N. McColl Rd., Suite B, McAllen, TX — down the street from Driscoll Children's Hospital, in Plaza 2 on McColl.
Do you speak Spanish?
Sí. Se habla español — llámenos o mándenos un mensaje y con gusto le atendemos.
Ultrasounds & seeing baby
2D through 5D, plus diagnostic scans.
Is ultrasound safe for my baby?
Yes. Ultrasound has been used safely in pregnancy for over 50 years. We use the same medical-grade equipment and low-power settings as hospitals and OB offices, and every session is supervised by an MD.
Does this replace my regular OB visits?
No — and please don't let it. Our scans are a complement to your prenatal care, not a substitute. Keep seeing your OB or midwife for your full pregnancy checkups.
Is there a doctor involved?
Yes. All of our scans are performed under MD oversight, giving you an added layer of care.
When's the best time for a 3D/4D/5D session?
Around 22+ weeks gives the clearest facial detail — enough baby fat to see features, still enough room to move. Earlier is fine too, it just looks different.
How do I receive my images and videos?
Everything is sent straight to your phone the same day — no waiting, no USB drives. You'll also leave with printed photos to share.
Do I need a referral for a diagnostic ultrasound?
No referral needed. Walk in or book online for any of our diagnostic scans. You'll get a full radiology report to share with your doctor, or we can send it to their office directly.
The one exception is the Anatomy Scan (20–23 weeks), which does require a referral from your doctor or midwife.
The one exception is the Anatomy Scan (20–23 weeks), which does require a referral from your doctor or midwife.
What's the difference between a diagnostic ultrasound and a screening?
A diagnostic ultrasound includes a radiology report and medical interpretation you can give your doctor. A screening is a reassurance scan — you keep the images, but there's no report, and it isn't a substitute for medical care.
Labs & genetics
Blood tests, gender, and NIPT.
How accurate is the early gender blood test?
Over 99% accurate from 6 weeks on. It detects fetal DNA in mom's bloodstream — earlier and more reliable than an ultrasound gender check.
Do you do gender reveals?
Absolutely. We can seal your results in an envelope, send them straight to your baker or party planner, or help you plan something at the studio. Just tell us how you'd like to find out.
What is NIPT, and do I need it?
NIPT screens your baby's genetics for conditions like Down syndrome, and includes carrier screening for you — from 9 weeks, with a simple blood draw. It's a screening, not a diagnosis, so anything flagged gets confirmed by your doctor. Whether you need it is a conversation worth having with your OB.
How long do lab results take?
Gender blood test: next day by email. hCG: 1–2 business days. NIPT: 5–7 business days.
What's hereditary cancer screening?
A genetic test that looks at whether cancer runs in your family for an inherited reason — covering genes linked to 12+ hereditary cancers, including breast, ovarian, uterine and colon. It's coming soon to our studio. See if you're a candidate →
DNA & paternity
Confidential testing, before or after birth.
Can I do a paternity test before the baby is born?
Yes, from 7 weeks. It's a blood draw from mom and a cheek swab from the possible father — no risk to the pregnancy. Baby's gender is included.
What's the difference between legal and non-legal testing?
Non-legal is for your own knowledge — you collect with us, results come to you. Legal follows a documented chain of custody so the results can be used for court, child support, or benefits. If there's any chance you'll need it officially, choose legal the first time.
Is it confidential?
Completely. Results go only to the people being tested, by email or sealed envelope, however you prefer.
Can more than one possible father be tested?
Yes — additional fathers can be added for $45 each.

Can I get a doctor's note for work or school?
